Located at GO Transit’s Bloomington Station, this modular housing community uses prefabricated mass timber to promote sustainability and resilience. The design integrates housing with educational and career opportunities in a community-led cooperative, fostering self-autonomy for migrant workers while enhancing the agricultural integrity of Ontario’s Greenbelt.
40% of Canadian Farm Operators will retire by 2033 - of those retiring, 66% have no succession plans in place
Despite the protective measures of the Greenbelt food prices have continued to rise exponentially in the province.
Today, Ontario is facing greater daily farmland loss than in 2005
Despite emphasis being placed on the urban housing crisis in the City of Toronto, Greenbelt municipalities north of the city face significantly higher average home prices
